4 Day Tour from Ouarzazate to Merzouga Overview
Our 4-day desert tour from Ouarzazate to Merzouga allows you to explore the Hollywood of Africa Ouarzazate the famous Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou and the Ouarzazate Film Studio. You'll also visit Skoura home to 1,000 kasbahs Next you'll travel to Kelaat M'Gouna known for its Rose Festival and visit several cooperatives producing various local products. Then continue your journey to Dades.
The next day we'll drive to the Merzouga Desert then head to the Todra Gorges enjoying the breathtaking scenery along the way We'll then venture into the rolling sand dunes of the Merzouga Desert where you'll witness breathtaking scenery and spend an enchanting night in the heart of the desert.
Your 4-day tour from Ouarzazate to Merzouga begins with a return flight to Ouarzazate following an alternative route. A special stop is in Rissani, known as the "City of Trade" where you'll have the opportunity to explore a traditional Berber market. We then continue through Alnif. By midday, we arrive in Nkoub a beautiful Berber village, where we stop for a leisurely lunch. Afterwards we continue through the Draa Valley and the Ait Saouen Pass arriving in Ouarzazate Our journey concludes with a transfer to your accommodation in the city.
Day 1: Ouarzazate - Skoura - Dades
We begin our tour today at 8:40 a.m. with a visit to Ait Benhaddou, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. We then head to Ouarzazate, the Hollywood of Africa and the film studio of... At lunchtime, we continue to Skoura, home to 1,000 kasbahs. A highlight of the day is a visit to Amridil. Next, we'll head to Kelaat M'Gouna, famous for its vibrant rose festival. En route, we'll stop before reaching the Dades Gorges. Next, we'll visit the rock formation known as "Monkey Fingers." In the late afternoon, we'll transfer you to your accommodation, where you'll spend the night in a kasbah.
Day 2: Dades - Todra - Merzouga
After a delicious breakfast at your accommodation in Dades, we continue our drive through the stunning scenery along the road to the Todra, known as the narrowest gorges in Morocco and a top tourist destination in the region. Accompanied by your tour guide, you will have the opportunity to hike through the valleys. Your 4-day tour from Ouarzazate to Merzouga continues via the Tinghir Oasis. Upon arrival in Tinghir, we stop for lunch. Our route then passes through a stadium, and before reaching the desert, we stop at a distinctive Berber market. In the late afternoon, we arrive in Merzouga. From here, your tour guide will be waiting to take you on a camel ride adventure, where you will enjoy breathtaking views along the way and witness a stunning sunset. We arrive at your desert camp, where you will spend the night with a drumming band around a campfire.
Day 3: Merzouga - Nomadic Families:
Today you will explore Merzouga. First, we will take you on a tour of the regions of Merzouga, Tanamoust, and Khamlia, where you can enjoy a concert by a black band. Then, we will take a 4x4 tour of the sand dunes of Merzouga, visit nomadic families, and explore their way of life. Next, we will visit the Hassi Lebid oasis. In the late afternoon, we will transfer you to your hotel where you will spend the night.
Day 4: Merzouga - Draa Valley - Ouarzazate:
Today, we will travel through the Draa Valley back to Ouarzazate. We will stop in Rissani to visit the Mausoleum of Moulay Ali Cherif. We will then continue our journey through Alnif to Nkoub, where we will stop for lunch. We will then continue our journey to the Draa Valley, the longest valley in Morocco. You can stop here to take some photos before heading back to Ouarzazate, and end your 4-day tour from Ouarzazate to Merzouga by being dropped off at your accommodation or the airport in Ouarzazate.
